Why Bimbo Akintola chose not to remarry, See Reasons

Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has talked candidly about her choice to stay single despite social pressure.

Bimbo talked about her own experiences and opinions on marriage, relationships, and love with her coworker, Emmanuel Ehumadu (Labista).

She also discussed the death of the person she loved and how she hadn’t yet found a substitute while emphasising her reluctance to enter marriage with someone not fully invested in lifelong vows.

Bimbo mentioned her previous heartbreaks when asked if she had any aspirations to be married again, saying that they had influenced how she views commitment.

She claims she is still not interested in committing herself “forever” to someone who is not similarly devoted.

Bimbo also reaffirmed her conviction that marriage is a lovely, holy bond, but she was disappointed by its contemporary methods.

She debuted in the movie industry when she featured in the film “Owo Blow” in 1995 alongside Femi Adebayo and followed up with “Out of Bounds” in 1997 with Richard Mofe Damijo.

Bimbo was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards before and after which she received recognition for some of her skills including Best Actress or English Actress in Nigeria in 1997, Best Actress Award for the movie “Heaven’s Hell” at the 2015 Eko International Film Festival.

She was raised in Maryland, Lagos, where she received her elementary education at Maryland Convent Private School and her secondary school at Command Day School, also in Lagos.

The popular Nollywood actress completed her undergraduate studies in theatre arts at the University of Ibadan where she used to perform every weekend with the late Jaiye Aboderin at a club called Divine on Allen Avenue in Lagos when she was still in school.
